I did the low-carb diet, and lost weight, but couldn't stick to it and then gained all the weight back, plus more in about two days! I asked a doctor about it and he said of all the diets out there, this one causes the most rebound weight gain, and that people would eventually gain more weight on this diet because they can't stay on it all the time. If they stay on it all the time they will ruin their liver or kidney or something like that.

I have heard the same things, Patty. Glad I love carbs too much to give them up!

I did that diet, too, and it worked, for a while, but I was giving up a major food group! I lost some muscle because of it. It will take a long time to get it back.

I tried it and lost nothing. what works anyway?

What works: eat less (especially less fat and sugar, and high fructose corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils) and

move more (break a sweat 5-6 days a week)

What, no magic pill?

I saw some ads in a magazine recently that promoted pills that were allowing the consumer to lose ten pounds in a week without doing any else, just taking the pills, being lazy butts, and eating whatever.

Any pill that causes a ten pound week loss in one week would have to have something in it like arsenic or rat poision!
