I'm both. I have a beagle named Sparky and a cat named Jinxy who are best friends. As summer comes along they hang outside at night. Jinxy knows Sparky will protect her and often catapaults from our next door neighbor's yard as she is being chased by another dog and enlists Sparky's barking to scare away the pursuer.
I am more of a dog person, mainly because I grew up with dogs all my life, so I know dogs. They're pretty predictable to me. But I am probably more of a cat person in that, I would just love to nap in the sun in the middle of the day, and then stretch for about 45 minutes before skulking off for a bit of fish. And I would like to just disappear when people show up and I'm not in the mood to make small talk.
It's funny that peeps seem to have the opposite of what they are. they have or prefer cats but are like a dog or they have or like dogs but are more like a cat! Is this often the case? Dogs are friendlier, they have to meet everyone, and cats are more introverted. Right?

I have cats, a bunch of them, but I think I am more like a dog because I like to go out and be with people and have fun.

Grumpy, that's an interesting story. Did they grow up together since pup and kit stage? So, you never did say, are YOU more like a cat or a dog?
I am a ferret person. I don't mind dogs or cats, I just love ferrets. I'm probably more like a cat (aka lazy and shed a lot).
